Banshee is an award-winning Spoken Word Artist who uses her rhetoric to promote creative advocacy, paying particular focus to human’s, women’s and children’s rights issues as well as matters to do with mental health. She was born in Harare in the year 1999 and delivered her first performance at the House of Hunger Poetry Slam in 2015, scooping the first position and later becoming a seven time House of Hunger Champion, being the first female to do so. Since then, Banshee has earned quite a number of accolades including being one of the pioneer poets at 1zwi Poetry Jam (2015), winning numerous Slam competitions including The Black Slam (2018), The Glass Box Poetry Slam (2019), The International Literature Festival’s Poetry Slam (2021), The Lafarge Poetry Slam (2021), The Bring It On Talent Show (2021), The Green Governance Zimbabwe Tax Justice Poetry Slam (2021) and The International Black History Month Poetry Slam (2021) which allowed her to get featured in an international anthology titled Black Butterfly with poets from all over the world including Europe and The United States of America. She has also been on various platforms such as the Shoko Festival (2020 and 2021), Tamba Africa Social Circus.
